I stumbled upon this chapter today while looking for something else and as I read it, I realized it was exactly what I was looking for in the first place. If you read the chapter of 2 Peter 2 (verses 1-22) one might realize the talk of false teachers, false prophets, the utter depravity that is being witnessed in this time so blatantly is, in my humble opinion what this scripture also refers to.
David Guzik has an excellent commentary over at Blue Letter Bible and he also has a podcast, so if you’re interested in reading more in the scripture and maybe reading his commentary, here’s the link: The Rise and Fall of False Teachers
After I read this, I found the scripture i thought I was looking for, but it dawned on me how many times recently I have found the guidance of the Holy Spirit elucidating the parallels in various scriptures between the Old and the New Testaments. I can only tell people you must read your Bible in order to understand. It’s how your understanding grows. I may have not been very active on this site this year, but I can only say that the Holy Spirit has been active in my life.
